NOTE: All requirements must be completed in South Dakota to be postseason eligible.

Supervised Exam

To move from “Registered” to “Certified” classification, an official must take and pass the supervised closed-book exam. A score of 75% or better is required to pass the exam. There is no deadline as to when this transition may be made. An official may stay in the “Registered” classification indefinitely. “Registered” officials are restricted to working regular season contests only.

Penalties

Maximum penalty is $50.00 per sport each year. All penalties result in being placed on probation and not eligible to work postseason contests.
