  - Jamboree - 1 every 5 years (after attending 1 in 1st 2 years, then 1 in next 3 years)

  - Two (2) Region Meetings - Annual

  - Jamboree - 1 every 3 years (after attending 1 in 1st years and 1 in next 3 years) - must attend initial jamboree prior to being eligible to work postseason contests
Officials must attend initial jamboree prior to working any sub-state or State events.
     
  NOTE:  All officials' requirements must be completed in South Dakota to be sub-state or State Tournament eligible.

Supervised Exam

To move from “registered” classification to “certified” classification, an official must take and pass the supervised closed-book exam. You must score at least a 75% to pass the exam. There is not a time deadline as to when this transition must be made. An official may stay in the “registered” classification indefinitely.


Penalties - Officials

  Maximum penalty is $50.00 per sport each year  
  A.  Not viewing online rules meeting $25.00
  B.  Not viewing online mechanics meeting $25.00
  C.  Not submitting or passing online rules exam $25.00
  D.  Not submitting or passing online mechanics exam $25.00
  E.  Not attending region meeting $25.00
  F.  Not attending jamboree (1 every 3 years) $25.00
  G.  Missing same requirement two (2) consecutive years Additional $25.00 or sit out for one (1) year
  H.  Missing same requirement three (3) consecutive years Suspended for one (1) year

Penalties - Coaches 

  A.  Not viewing online rules meeting   $50.00
  B.  Not submitting or passing online rules exam   $50.00
  C.  Both rules meeting and exam penalty   $75.00

  A.  Officials online rules exam   80%
  B.  Officials online mechanics exam   80%
  C.  Officials supervised exam   75%
  D.  Coaches online rules exam   80%
