  NOTE:  All officials' requirements must be completed in South Dakota to be sub-state or State Tournament eligible.

Supervised Exam

To move from “registered” classification to “certified” classification, an official must take and pass the supervised closed-book exam.  You must score at least a 75% to pass the exam.  There is not a time deadline as to when this transition must be made.  An official may stay in the “registered” classification indefinitely.


Penalties - Officials

  Maximum penalty is $50.00 per sport each year
 
  A.  Not viewing online rules meeting $25.00
  B.  Not submitting or passing online rules exam
$25.00
  C.  Not attending region meeting $25.00
  D.  Missing the same requirement two (2) consecutive years Additional $25.00 or sit out one (1) year
  E.  Missing the same requirement three (3) consecutive years Suspended for one (1) year

Penalties - Coaches 

  A.  Not viewing online rules meeting   $50.00
  B.  Not submitting or passing online open-book rules test   $50.00
  C.  Both rules meeting and exam penalty   $75.00

Change of Contact Information

You must notify the SDHSAA of any change of address, email address, phone numbers, etc.  If a new address is not submitted, the post office will charge to forward any mailings and you will not receive email notices from the SDHSAA.
